Description
This is the Elissa that rest in the port of Galveston, Texas. She goes out for sea trials in March of each year. Here she is coming into port with engine power. She is a National Historic Landmark. She was built in 1877 with three masts that have 19 sheets. She is 205 feet from stern to the tip of her jibboom. She tops out at 99 feet and 9 inches tall. In this view the Elissa is maneuvering to come into her place in Galveston. I like this profile view so you can see more of the detail in this beautiful ship. She is a joy to see on the water.

An excellent capture with just the right balance of lighting and contrast. Also the American flag in color stands out very nicely! L/F FB
